Sharyn gets really excited when she talks about health and nutrition. As a naturopath with over 30 years experience, she has seen the difference between those who follow a healthy diet and those who don’t. Her personal lifestyle is based on raw, whole-food nutrition and a toxin-free living environment. But it wasn’t always that way. She explains:
“More people are talking about a vegetarian, raw food lifestyle—and for good reason. There are many reasons to incorporate more raw, vegetarian foods in your diet, everything from weight loss to improved health, emotional balance, and a deeper connection with the natural/spiritual aspects of life. I experienced each of these benefits as I shifted to a mostly raw, vegetarian diet years ago. It was a part of a larger transition that helped me walk away from degenerative disease when the medical profession told me it would be impossible. Changing my lifestyle turned my health around and it changed my whole life. It’s the reason I became a naturopath. I was living the “Tribest Lifestyle” before Tribest coined the term,” smiles Sharyn.
Another part of Sharyn’s transition years ago, was the elimination of toxins from her living environment. That too, supported her return to health and inspired her recent book, The Pure Cure: A Complete Guide to Freeing Your Life from Dangerous Toxins. The book (available in the books section of the Tribest catalogue) is a powerful reference guide for anyone who wants to understand how to limit their exposure to thousands of toxins in our modern world. It is an eye-opener to the hidden toxins in everything from food and personal care products, to electronic devices, clothing, and even toxic emotions. After teaching these important aspects of living a toxin-free lifestyle, it goes on to provide practical solutions that anyone can use to begin making active changes in their life!
“When I began my personal recovery over 30 years ago, I threw out nearly everything in my cupboards. I threw out processed food and I also threw out most of my personal care products because I found out they contained toxins that were being absorbed through my skin. As I continued to learn more, I discovered that toxins were everywhere. I wrote The Pure Cure to make it easy for people to understand the problems and to help them find clean, sustainable options. The book has been very well received in the health-minded community.”
Sharyn is as versatile as she says the Personal Blender is. Her life has given her many opportunities to manifest her dreams. Her latest dream come true occurred in January of 2016 with the opening of 118 Degrees in Los Angeles, a 100% plant-based restaurant where everything is made from scratch and prepared with the finest organic, non-GMO ingredients—without dairy, gluten, soy or animal products. “I’ve always wanted to be involved in things that would make a difference,” says Sharyn. “When I was given a second chance years ago, I dedicated myself to enriching the lives of others. Sharing my lifestyle has brought me a great deal of joy. Now with the opening of 118 Degrees I have a chance to share on a much larger scale.”

Sharyn's Chocolate Chia Pudding
- 2 bananas
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1/3 cup raw cacao
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
Blend all ingredients adding chia seeds last; top with goji berries
- 12 oz. fresh orange juice
- 2 oz. fresh lemon juice
- 1 tsp. maca root powder
Blend together and garnish with your favorite berry puree and chia seeds
- 4 oz. mylk* (we use walnut mylk at 118 Degrees)
- 1 banana
- 2 tsp. raw cacao
- 1 large dash cinnamon
- 3 seconds coconut nectar (right from the bottle)
- 1 tsp. mana root
- 1 tsp. super greens
- 1 Tbsp hemp seeds
- 1 cup ice
Blend ingredients and garnish with swirled chocolate sauce
Super Greens Smoothie
- 4 oz. coconut water
- 1 banana
- 1/2 mango
- 2 kale leaves (stem removed)
- 1 tsp. supergreens powder of your choice
- 1 cup ice
Blend ingredients and garnish with goji berries
- 1 cup hemp seeds
- 4 cups water
- pinch of sea salt
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Blend for 1 minute; pour through cloth and squeeze
*The word mylk refers to nut or seed mylks. Hemp and almond mylk are best made fresh.
Same as above but soak almonds 12 hours and rinse
