Jeff’s 30-Day Juicing Challenge: DAY 30 (with a smoothie recipe and progress pictures!)

I enjoyed this challenge. I learned a lot about my body during this time due to the extremities I pushed it through. I learn how to adapt my juice for my body, and what would be a reasonable amount for me going forward. I’m happy with my results (I lost 5 lbs and 1% BF), and I believe my results would’ve been better if I pushed myself to go to the gym! To be completely straightforward, I wasn’t perfect. I gave up couple times, I didn’t drink juice for a day here and there, and there were days I felt miserable. I think the important thing is that I kept pushing on. What did I get out of this? Well physically, my skin improved. Lots of people started to comment on how I “glowed” and my redness started to go away. This could’ve been a result of so many other things, but I’m going to run with it anyways. Also, I’m not eating as many fatty things. I hope it lasts, my mind is definitely on providing myself with healthier alternatives wherever I can. Going forward, I hope to combine 16oz. of juice throughout the day, with a healthy diet, and working out. I wish everybody luck on whatever their journey may be. 

Green Kale Smoothie recipe: 1 kale leaf, a handful of spinach, 2 tbsp of peanut butter, 1-2 bananas, ice, 1 avocado, 1 cup of water

I chose this smoothie because it’s a great alternative to drink when you’re juicing and/or as a supplement to any diet. The greens will provide great levels of various minerals and is a good source of Vitamin A, C, and K! The banana has potassium for people who want to prevent cramps, the avocado provides great healthy fat, and the peanut butter gives that extra protein boost for muscle repair in people who work out.

The smoothie was very palpable due to the overwhelming taste of the peanut butter, which makes it seem like you’re cheating on your diet even though you’re not!

I give this smoothie a 4.5/5.
